MY 10 CHILDHOOD GAME

Everyone have their own childhood... Do you still remember which game was your favourite during childhood game. Just like it was yesterday, I reminisence the noise of knocking marbles and landing "five stone" sacks. My primary school have this corner for these retro games for us to pass times before lesson starts or during recess time.

MARBLE GAME:

This game is a small gamble for us children to take. All players would gather some of their marbles in a circle. then players would take turns to aim at the marbles, those marble got knocked out of the circle would go to that player. Sometimes I'll aim to get a few of the marble out of the circle, sometime it will be just the most attractive marble which caught my attention.

Of course this marble game is more for boys, when with my female besties, we would play some more gentle game.

FIVE STONES:

This is so called "Five Stones" 5 bag filled with green beans or rice grains sew in a shape of a pyramid. We would sit around and see who can do certain tricks with them or a more standard game would be, 5 bags on the ground, throw one up, while the 1 u throw up is in the air, grab as many as u can on the ground then finish up by catching the last 1 in the air, during that time, with our small palms of course its tough, thinking back about it now, it was really an Childhood game. =D

So one boring day, you did not bring your marble nor your "five stones" what should you do to pass time?!!

HOP SCOTCH:

Take out your wallets!! Not to pay, inorder to play... throw your wallet on square 1 then hop with single leg avoiding the square where ur wallet is. after finishing the hop, get to the next level, by shifting your wallet to square 2, repeating this process until your wallet reach the last round space, congrats for completing the game.

Slowly as technology improves......

BRICK GAME:

This is the first handheld game machine, it plays similarly like textris, 9999 game in 1. it sounds really impressive, but all their game are actually similar. But during that time it was really good and addictive, even adult can hold this for hours.

Not allowed to have a pet?Here comes in the form of electronic...

TAMAGOTCHI:

I remember this was really expensive but popular at that point of time when i was around primary school. This small egg you hold in your hand is actually like your real pet, you have to feed it, it make noise when it poop. and it will die if you dun give it medication attention when needed. It was so addictive that teacher keep confiscating from students.

As cartoon such as pokemon and digimon comes out...

DIGIMON DIGIVICE:

Eventhough I was abit confuse with how it works i still managed to sneak it away from my brother and shake it until it rings that means my digimon had encountered an monster. i do remember students smuggle them to school just to battle each other.

POKEMON CARDS:

This is the first trading card game i started playing. which is also the most pricey game during that period of time. You could start of with a deck of 60 cards then battle your friends with your decks of card or buy cards to strengthen your deck of pokemon.

Finally gameboy was released.

GAMEBOY:

This is the first LCD handheld device, you may get the type of cartridge you want to play and inside at the back of it. At that point of time at my age, owning one of these, all the eye of envious will be on you.

GAMEBOY(POKEMON):

For these who watched pokemon, Its a must for them to get this game, it works just like how the cartoon goes, and RPG game whereby you catch train your pocket monster take them to gym for battle earn badges.This were the main reason my grades dropped.

Last of all the grandest game machine

PLAYSTATION 2:

Plug this into your 40inch television, and you will be able to sit by the television until your parent get really pissed off. this expensive console, was the longest surviving entertainment that i had during my childhood. All sort of games, all type of adventure, almost all of my childhood entertainment is in there... ...

So thats the end of the introduction of my 10 childhood game... =))

LIFE IS A GAME ITSELF

Today's post will not be about any particular game, it's about a huge game call our life. Many says our life is like a drama and drama is base on our life.A huge variety of games that we played around us, are also based on our life, some game addicts even mixes up game with their personal life. So today's post would be on 5 aspects of life that are similar to games.

INVENTORY == BAG
Looking around, laying in a corner of my room is... my backpack, which resembles the inventory we have in all role playing games. Whats inside my backpack which i bring to school everyday. If we compare it with game's inventory, I see my water bottle, just like fully restocked potion. Pen, pencil markers and all other stationery,acting like weapons or equipments. All the papers and stuff that have to hand in, are like the "ETCs" which u need them to fulfill any quest...

QUEST == ASSIGNMENT
Talking about quest... They are like assignments, piece and pieces, pile and piles of worksheet or notes given. Look into a game, quests is the only thing that leads and keep u going, revealing the story plot bit by bit. Without Quest u will not know whats going on, and you will not be about to continue. So just like assignments, every assignment we will need to complete it, hence process on, any incompletion of assignment will be like undone quest, u will miss out the important part of story plot. Story plot are not the only thing, completing quest gives rewards. What are our reward for completing assignment??! The sense of satisfaction for receiving an A or A+ on your assignment, and of course not all quest gives good reward. So do not get demotivated for getting C or D s , take it as a motivation for improvement!

NPCs (Non-player character) == LECTURERS
Where do you get your quest from? From the NPCs in game. And who gives you your assignments, the lecturers! The lecturers are like the NPCs in game, they play different but important roles. Imagine a game without NPCs, depending totally on the narrative speeches to interact with the player, it would be of no fun at all, we need NPCs to interact with, be it the potion seller or the important storyteller. A game have tons of NPCs to talk to you about the game or the story plot, some gives important information that if you miss out, you're not going to understand whats going on in the same, and some could gives irrelevant stories that you would felt your time wasted listening to their long-winded nag. Most student will naturally think this way too, some lecturers' message are short and sweet, some are not of much help despite hours of explanation.

BOSS BATTLE == EXAMINATION
Now what are the link between these two? boss battle and examination, no doubts about it both are much fearsome. Going through waves of quest and level-grinding just to prepare for a boss battle, just like examination, after much preparation from assignment and studies, the examination is just the important one that you will have to face. We can also describe the examination hall as battlefield and the pen that you are holding are your weapon, and the time limit is the restriction of time for you to knock out your enemy, which is also know as the questions inside your examination scripts. For one who dislike doing quest, and also hate level-grinding, and expect the boss to go easy on them, it will not happen. on the other hand the exam script will only be conquered by those who does their assignment and study hard. So now if you think boss battle are easy, so are the examinations.

HALL OF FAME == DIRECTOR LIST
So after the boss battle, you scored lots and lots of combo, potion usage are at the minimum, and no other player could do it as well as you do, then you might get into the hall of fame, where all the best players' name were placed together. Similarly you score high grades in your exam, that no other student can compare, the top few will be inside the prestigious director list and invited to have a tea session with the director together, so you could take a clear look at who would be an opponent. Whereby in hall of fame, you'll see the name and their score, the next thing you would do, is to try your best to beat them in their hi-score... ...

PATAPON 3

Pata pata pata today's game test will be focused on a popular flash graphic game known as "patapon 3". Its an sequential of "Patapon" and "Patapon2"... whereby "patapon" only have plain looking warriors which basically comes in mono-colors, until today's "patapon 3" they added cool colour concept and design for their warriors. Below shows the upgrade done to it from the 1st sequential to their 3rd.

upgraded to ---->

"Patapon 3" is basically a strategic game, you acting as commander of your small patapon army leading them to attack forward or retreat back with your sense of rhythm.

like this, you key in you commands with the tempo given and your soldier will execute your command.

And of course you will have to prepare your very own platoon, getting them their preparing their armory, batch that you want them to go for battle. Every patapon can have a different path of position, tons of unknown position to exploit.

In conclusion this is a cute bravery flash game with satisfying soundtracks and effects. And from their 1st series till this latest edition, they made constantly huge improvement on it.

On the other side, there's this flash game call "loco roco 2" which are less appealing, though its also another cute game. The purpose of the game does not sounds much impressive. Your task is to roll your Loco roco (the yellow particles) other of danger and saving each and every small bit of them. The small Loco roco can be absorb together to form a big loco roco which can be break down back to smaller pieces anytime.

It does not have any customization or any changes other than the different type of loco roco which are presented just in different colors. And it's sequential "Loco Roco" does not have much improvement on it.
