Today's post will not be about any particular game, it's about a huge game call our life. Many says our life is like a drama and drama is base on our life.A huge variety of games that we played around us, are also based on our life, some game addicts even mixes up game with their personal life. So today's post would be on 5 aspects of life that are similar to games.
INVENTORY == BAG
Looking around, laying in a corner of my room is... my backpack, which resembles the inventory we have in all role playing games. Whats inside my backpack which i bring to school everyday. If we compare it with game's inventory, I see my water bottle, just like fully restocked potion. Pen, pencil markers and all other stationery,acting like weapons or equipments. All the papers and stuff that have to hand in, are like the "ETCs" which u need them to fulfill any quest...
QUEST == ASSIGNMENT
Talking about quest... They are like assignments, piece and pieces, pile and piles of worksheet or notes given. Look into a game, quests is the only thing that leads and keep u going, revealing the story plot bit by bit. Without Quest u will not know whats going on, and you will not be about to continue. So just like assignments, every assignment we will need to complete it, hence process on, any incompletion of assignment will be like undone quest, u will miss out the important part of story plot. Story plot are not the only thing, completing quest gives rewards. What are our reward for completing assignment??! The sense of satisfaction for receiving an A or A+ on your assignment, and of course not all quest gives good reward. So do not get demotivated for getting C or D s , take it as a motivation for improvement!
NPCs (Non-player character) == LECTURERS
Where do you get your quest from? From the NPCs in game. And who gives you your assignments, the lecturers! The lecturers are like the NPCs in game, they play different but important roles. Imagine a game without NPCs, depending totally on the narrative speeches to interact with the player, it would be of no fun at all, we need NPCs to interact with, be it the potion seller or the important storyteller. A game have tons of NPCs to talk to you about the game or the story plot, some gives important information that if you miss out, you're not going to understand whats going on in the same, and some could gives irrelevant stories that you would felt your time wasted listening to their long-winded nag. Most student will naturally think this way too, some lecturers' message are short and sweet, some are not of much help despite hours of explanation.
BOSS BATTLE == EXAMINATION
Now what are the link between these two? boss battle and examination, no doubts about it both are much fearsome. Going through waves of quest and level-grinding just to prepare for a boss battle, just like examination, after much preparation from assignment and studies, the examination is just the important one that you will have to face. We can also describe the examination hall as battlefield and the pen that you are holding are your weapon, and the time limit is the restriction of time for you to knock out your enemy, which is also know as the questions inside your examination scripts. For one who dislike doing quest, and also hate level-grinding, and expect the boss to go easy on them, it will not happen. on the other hand the exam script will only be conquered by those who does their assignment and study hard. So now if you think boss battle are easy, so are the examinations.
HALL OF FAME == DIRECTOR LIST
So after the boss battle, you scored lots and lots of combo, potion usage are at the minimum, and no other player could do it as well as you do, then you might get into the hall of fame, where all the best players' name were placed together. Similarly you score high grades in your exam, that no other student can compare, the top few will be inside the prestigious director list and invited to have a tea session with the director together, so you could take a clear look at who would be an opponent. Whereby in hall of fame, you'll see the name and their score, the next thing you would do, is to try your best to beat them in their hi-score... ...
